And NCLB haunts us like a pinworms haunt a three year old. Annoying and useless and something no one wants to talk about rationally.
Meet This Brazen Teacher,
She's young, she's brilliant, she's angry.
This ain't rocket science.
Mr. Obama, imagine a world with Linda Darling-Hammond running education.
You sold us on hope.
Hope.
You sold us on hope.
Hope.

I've been following your blog for several months now, finding constant inspiration in your posts and refueling my passion with yours.
Never have I had anything half as meaningful or worthwhile to say as you, and have never left a comment here before.
Today I need to come out of the e-woodwork and tell you-
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS.
Dear RG,
Thank you for the kind words.
I hesitate to say this, for fear of being misinterpreted--tone is difficult in this medium--but what you have to say matters. It's been a remarkable feat that those with power have convinced (many/most) of us that we lack things worth saying.
I urge you to climb on the rooftops and say what you think. Our silence is killing us and our children.
There is an excellent RSA video called "The surprising truth about what motivates us," that touches on the same research referenced in the video above. It seems the business world is beginning to catch up with the research. Perhaps if enough educators speak out the dept of education will be forced to take notice.
